Washburn acoustic guitars are sold by Washburn Guitars. This is an American manufacturer of guitars that is part of the U.S. Music Corporation. It was established in 1883 in Chicago, Illinois.

During the 1920s, the Washburn acoustic guitars factory was deeply involved in the Chicago Delta Blues movement. This was an influential era for blues as well as for rock and roll. It also helped the company's guitars become exceptional popular during that decade.
