Keyboards

KeyboardsKeyboards are a crucial part of instruments such as the piano. The keyboard is what allows a musician to hit the right notes, and create the beautiful harmonics that we love to listen to.

There are a few different instruments that use keyboards, and a keyboard can be an instrument in and of itself as well. The most well known instrument that uses a keyboard is the piano. The piano and its predecessors have been popular instruments for hundreds of years.
In a piano, when someone hits a key on the keyboard, it moves a small hammer inside the body of the piano. The hammer lifts, then drops, hitting a cord. This cord vibrates, releasing a note. Each of the cords is tuned differently, so each key creates a different note.

The harpsichord is also played using a keyboard, but hitting the keys creates a somewhat different action. In this instrument, there are tuned strings in the body. When the musician hits a key, a “jack” is raised, and it plucks one of the strings, creating a note. When the jack lowers, it does not pluck the sting again. In fact, the string’s vibration is hampered when the jack comes back down.

When a key is struck on a pipe organ, air is allowed to run through one of the many pipes that the instrument has. There are different types of organs, some of them huge, and some of them very small. There are different ranges they hit, and different methods of creating sound, but each of them uses a keyboard.

One instrument that is considered to have a keyboard that many people do not think about is the carillon. This instrument’s keyboard is made up of large wooden pegs instead of small keys, and the instrument is usually quite large. Hitting a key will pull on a wire, which rings a bell.

As you can see, the keyboard is very versatile, and versions of it have been used on many musical instruments. Many of these instruments have been around for hundreds of years. One reason that the keyboard has been so popular is that more than one key can be hit at a time, so more than one note can be made in one motion. This is what gives keyboard instruments their music making abilities.

The keyboards that many people are familiar with nowadays are electric instruments. They are often used in place of pianos for people who are trying to learn the piano because they are much cheaper, take up much less room, and do not need to be tuned. Most people feel their sound is not as nice as a real piano, but they are great substitutes in many settings.

A lot of bands use electric keyboards because they can be made to sound like many different things. Sounding like a piano is only one of the many things that a keyboard can do. They can be programmed to sound like just about any instrument.

The keyboard is an amazing and versatile invention. It has been used and perfected for hundreds of years, and it will continue to be used for a long time. It is a favorite among musicians, both learners and professionals alike.
